Founded in 1994, ProSono International is a premier supplier of processed African hardwoods, operating from Gauteng, South Africa. Our expert team, skilled in forestry, wood processing, and ecosystem protection, sources and processes dense, durable hardwoods such as African Blackwood, Pink Ivory, and Mopane, ideal for specialized applications. These include musical blanks for woodwind and stringed instruments, acoustic guitar backs and sides, knife handles, turnery squares, and traditional hardwood flooring.
We adhere strictly to CITES regulations, ensuring sustainable and compliant trade, and do not export logs or unprocessed timber outside Southern Africa. Our hardwoods are not suited for furniture, structural, or industrial uses but excel in precision crafts. With global freight expertise, we assist clients in securing import permits and deliver to international markets. Our customers include makers of woodwind instruments, acoustic guitars, folkloric pipes, knives, and fine joinery, as well as turners and carvers.
