If you are looking for a fun and original day out there is nothing that rivals the Redberry Farm experience. As one enters the farming area just outside George on the Geelhoutboom Road, you will be in awe of the rows and rows of strawberries in what is now known as “Strawberry Country”. Redberry Farm is the first beacon that greets tourists along the beautiful Outeniqua Hop Route, where one is lured in by the sweet aroma of ripe berries.
Once you’ve chosen your container, you will be guided to the “Pick Your Own” strawberry fields, where you can take a carefree walk through the farm with the majestic Outeniqua Mountains in the background. A bulging container is a sure sign that the harvest is plentiful and one will quickly discover that the sweetest strawberry is the one that is hand-picked and eaten at room temperature. The best time for juicy sweet strawberry picking is from August to January, although Redberry Farm does pride itself in having strawberries all year round.
Once your container is full you can head to the Tea Garden and indulge in the most delicious farm fresh treats. The scones are an experience not to be missed - topped with farm butter, homemade strawberry preserve and fresh clotted cream. The children can immerse themselves in the outside playground, feed the rabbits, enjoy a train ride through the strawberry fields, ride a pony or experience walking on water in the Bubble Ball.
The Farm Stall shelves are lined with products and a strawberry theme permeates the building, where one can browse through the deli and other unique products. Strawberry punnets at bargain prices, strawberry liqueur, strawberry jam, strawberry syrup and many other preserves will get you through any withdrawal symptoms you may have when you leave Redberry Farm.

Enter the rows upon rows of strawberries and take your time filling your container, as you enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery.
Strawberry Express R10 per child / R20 per adult
Our miniature railway has 700m of track that winds through a portion of the maze, around the strawberry fields and into a tunnel, providing plenty of fun and adventure!
Pony Rides R10 per child
Our resident ponies are very friendly and love to take children for a trot around their paddock. During off-peak times, pony rides are only available on Friday afternoons and Saturdays.
Bubble Ball R20 per child / R30 per adult (Maximum weight 70kg)
Experience the thrill of walking on water as you make your way across the dam. Great to expend the kids’ energy right before departing! During off-peak times, Bubble Ball is only available on Friday afternoons and Saturdays.
Feed the Rabbits R5 a packet
Our furry friends are very cute, and love to nibble! Please keep fingers at a safe distance.

FORTHCOMING ATTRACTIONS:
Make sure to diarise the 22nd and 23rd of September for the 2012 annual STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL. Hosted over the long weekend, it is the perfect opportunity for a Garden Route vacation, or to invite family and friends to join you for some festival fun. There is always a wide variety of stallholders exhibiting good food, local wines and cheeses, fresh veggies, herbs and arts and crafts. Plenty of entertainment to keep both young and old busy - two full days of family fun! Entertainment includes the beer tent, miniature steam train - the Strawberry Express, Bubble Ball on the dam, a new Trail Run throughout the district for the energetic, pony rides, strawberry picking, strawberry eating competitions, zorbing, paint ball target shooting, jumping castles and tractor rides.
In November 2012, the Redberry Farm will be opening the 3rd largest permanent hedge MAZE in the world! With over 10 000m of rows, consisting of 30 000 hedges, the maze promises a distinctive and exciting adventure, intertwined with an educational strawberry experience.
