Wallend-Air Paragliding School was established in 1987 by Pete Wallenda, originally from Germany, and he’s been promoting the sport in South Africa ever since.
We offer introduction tandem flights, paragliding courses and events in Cape Town and Wilderness. Wallend Air has evolved into developing and manufacturing the popular pull-up student glider, carry clinches and a harness that is currently in development.

Tandems
No experience needed. All of our tandem pilots are very experienced TFI instructors.
Instructional flight from Lion's Head, Signal Hill, Noordhoek, Hermanus, Porterville or Wilderness on the Garden Route!!!
Our school is the 1st in South Africa, established for nearly 30 yrs and through which we also offer Basic to Advanced Paragliding courses where you can qualify as a pilot to fly on your own.
The tandem glider is specifically designed for two people and requires a different flying skill to solo flying. The passenger or student is strapped into the harness in front of the tandem instructor. All our pilots are SAHPA certified and TFI (Tandem Flight Instructor) licensed.
We book flights daily and the exact time of take-off and length of the flight is weather dependent.
